(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Following the conclusion of the third act of the Tour Voile 2019 at Jullouville in France on Thursday, Oman Sail's Renaissance Services and EFG Private Bank Monaco were placed at fifth and seventh spots respectively.
Renaissance Services has garnered 304 points while EFG Private Bank Monaco has 303.
Team Beijaflore is on top with 337 while Cheminees Poujoulat is second with 333. Reseau IXIO – Toulon Provence Mediterran is third with 330.
The two Oman Sail development teams – EFG Sailing Arabia The Tour (237) and Team Oman Sail (216) – were ranked 18th and 22nd respectively among the 23 teams in the competitive regatta.
The first two Acts were held at Dunkirk and Fecamp. The teams have headed to Les Sables-d'Olonne (July 13-14) for the fourth Act. The remaining Acts are at Port Barcarès (July 16-17), Hyères (July 18-19) and Nice (July 20 -21).
During Act Three, EFG Private Bank Monaco team – skipper Pierre Pennec with Corentin Horeau and Hussein al Jabri – took a second place in the coastal race, its best result so far on the Tour while Renaissance Services' skipper Stevie Morrison and his crew of Quentin Ponroy and Abdul Rahman al Mashari also delivered a strong display to finish fourth in the coastal race.
However, both the teams failed to repeat their good work during the five 'stadium' races, and missed out on a place in Thursday's final on the spectacular Bay of Mont Saint Michel.
Later, EFG Private Bank Monaco skipper Pennec said, 'The Tour has been very intensive, starting from Dunkirk. The most important thing for me and team is to progress and we are working all the time to see what we can do better and how we should do it. We are tired but we are very focused.'
