Iraq's cabinet approves plan to provide Jordan's Aqaba with oil

(MENAFN) Iraq's cabinet ratified a project to construct a pipeline to provide the production of oil fields in Rumaila to Aqaba in Jordan, according to a Wednesday statement from the nation's oil ministry.

The pipeline will be built with the ability to provide 1 million b/d.

The venture was ratified by the Jordanian government over the past year, but specific information about the pipeline have been scarce.

A source close to the Iraqi ministry informed S&P Global Platts that reaching financiers for the pipeline has been a real challenge.
