Morocco's Tanger Med to become largest in Mediterranean
(MENAFN) Morocco is currently establishing what will be known as the biggest container port within the Mediterranean: Tanger Med port.
Port officials confirmed that Tanger Med, constructed in northern Morocco, is expected to impose a 6 million TEUs hike on maximum annual capacity.
Officials further revealed that the country will be spending USD1.48 billion on phase two of the mega port project.
Leader of the project, Hassan Abkari, affirmed that the new port is likely to increase the actual annual capacity to stand at 900 TEUs.
