Kuwait- Amb. Sheikh Ahmad Nasser obtains Legion of Honor

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, July 3 (KUNA) -- French Ambassador to Kuwait Marie Masdupuy, on behalf of French President Emmanuel Macron, awarded the Assistant Foreign Minister, Ambassador sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, for his prominent role in strengthening relations between Kuwait and France.
This was declared in a press release issued on Wednesday, following the ceremony of adorning Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser with the National Order of the Legion of Honor, France's top award, held at the diwan (reception hall) of the late Sheikh, Mohammed Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, in Shuwaikh district.
During the ceremony, Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser thanked Macron, the French Government and those who attended the event, expressing full appreciation for the French gesture.
He spoke highly of the deep friendship and distinguished relations between both countries.
The medal was dedicated to Kuwait, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, "our mentor and guide on weaving the Kuwaiti network of relations with the world, preserving it in the darkest circumstances, he said.
It was also granted to his father, His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who is an inspiration, teacher, brother and father, therefore everything he learned about life was not from indoctrination but through his father's teachings.
Kuwait has a vital issue that is considered an acquired right, which are the values of freedom, brotherhood and tolerance, he says, pointing out that they are the values in which France is based on.
Every individual calls for freedom which is the basis of solidarity while equality is the application of justice, he added, noting that the diagnosis of worldly issues reveals that the reasons rest in the loss of one of these values and that the application of these values are the stability of communities.
The distinctive aspects of these relations are the basis of the principles of freedom and equality, Sheikh Ahmad Nasser said.
These values seem intuitive in their form, noble values found in all heavenly legislations, including Islam and the laws of other countries, he added.
He noted that his family is "the rock" in which he based and derived all of his energy from, along with strength and determination, appreciating the influential role of his colleagues in the work they have contributed to strengthening diplomatic relations with other countries.
Sheikh Ahmad Nasser dedicated the medal to his friends and colleagues who participated in strengthening diplomatic relations with other countries, along with anyone who had an influential role in his scientific and professional training.
On another point, Masdupuy during the ceremony appreciated her presence with the gathering and spirit of Kuwait.
She underlined that Sheikh Ahmad Nasser is the prototype of total devotion to his country's service, noting that his studies in France did not prevent him from hearing his country's call during the invasion, to contribute and support Kuwait's freedom.
Masdupuy said that his father was honored twice by the French Republic in 2006 with the Order of the Legion of Honor by a senior officer and in 2010 the National Merit Medal.
She emphasized the role of Sheikh Ahmad Nasser in listening to cultural initiatives, ideas at the international and bilateral levels regarding the Palestinian issues, conflicts around the world and climate change.
Masdupuy concluded her speech with the tradition of granting Sheikh Ahmad Nasser the Legion of Honor on behalf of French President Emmanuel Macaron. (end)
