Qatar- Katara to hold several workshops during summer

Doha: Katara is hosting an array of workshops during July as part of its summer programme.

The 'Introduction to crochet Toy hedgehog by artist Esther de Veuve, will be held from July 2-3, followed by 'Introduction to over-sized knitting workshop from July 7-8 at Katara Art Studios in building 19.

The crochet workshop, open for boys and girls above 12 years of age, will be conducted in English from 10 am to 12noon and the fee is QR400 per person.

'Katara aims to help develop the skills of amateurs and handicraft enthusiasts, besides opening doors for the youth to learn useful skills in such fields, a press release announcing the workshop said.

Another workshop - 'Brush Calligraphy Workshop by artist Noor Shifa - will be organised on July 6 in building 19 for young people aged 13 and above.

To provide diversity for the public, the workshop 'Paper Die Cut Kirigami by artist Mariam Al Obeidy will run from July 13-14, 5-8pm for both genders from age 15 and above.

Finally, ‘An Introduction to weaving' by artist Vandana Gupta will run from July 22-24, explaining to participants about the field of weaving and use of textiles.
