Kuwait- ASBU Festival kicks off in Tunisian Culture City

TUNIS, June 28 (KUNA) -- The Arab States Broadcasting Union launched the ASBU Festival on Friday with the participation of 70 bodies and companies in the field of audiovisual equipment in the Culture City in Tunis.
In a statement to KUNA, Head of the Arab States Broadcasting Union Mohammad Al-Awash said that the exhibition, which is held every year on the sidelines of the Arab Radio and Television Festival, coincides with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Federation.
Al-Awash, who is also the Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information, noted that the exhibition includes 100 pavilions for 70 participants from the member bodies of the Union and other bodies and international companies in the field of audiovisual production from different countries in the world, especially China and Australia, and the European and Asian radio stations.
"The increase in the number of participants in this exhibition from year to year reflects the success of the Federation of Arab States Radio in keeping up with the latest technological innovations that contribute to the development of the media landscape in the Arab region," he added.
For his part, the First Vice President of the Arab States Broadcasting Union Saad Al-Jrais said that the Festival has turned over the past years to one of the most prominent media stations in the Arab world, especially the symposiums and workshops, media in the region.
Al-Jrais stressed that the holding of the 20th session Festival in the City of Culture in the heart of the Tunisian capital reflects the determination of the Arab peoples and their leaders to and progress towards the renaissance of the Arab homeland.
The Arab Broadcasting Union is organizing the Arab Radio and Television Festival from 27 to 30 June in cooperation with the Tunisian Radio and Television and the Arab Satellite Communications Organization (ARABSAT), in which it celebrates a selection of Arab screen stars, artists, directors and senior officials and media professionals in the Arab arena.
