Kuwait- Power consumption index hit record high

(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, June 27: The power consumption index hit a new record high at 14,280 megawatts; breaking the previous record by 20 megawatts, while production capacity reached 15,500 megawatts, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources from the Ministry of Electricity and Water.

Sources attributed this consumption index record to rising temperatures which reached 49 degrees Celsius; so they expect the power consumption index to record 14,400 megawatts in the next few days. Sources added the ministry expects that the highest power consumption this summer will reach 14,500 megawatts and production capacity might reach about 18,000 megawatts.
