Egypt deplores Baghdad mosque attack


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, June 22 (KUNA) -- Egypt on Saturday condemned, in the strongest words, a bomb explosion targeting a mosque in Baghdad on Friday, which left a number of people dead or injured.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that it stands side by side with the government and people of Iraq in their fight against all forms of terrorism and extremism.
It also offered condolences to the families of the victims and wished a swift recovery of those injured in the blast, according to the statement.
Iraqi police said on Friday that 10 people were killed when an explosion ripped through a mosque in eastern Baghdad. (end)
