Libya receives humanitarian aid from Algeria

(MENAFN) Algeria provided a military plane loaded with humanitarian assistance to the flood-hit Libyan city of Ghat, official Algeria Press Service (APS) reported Thursday.

Four of the military planes reached the southernmost locality of Djanet in Illizi Province close to the Libyan borders, with the assistance to be transported by road to Ghat on Friday, APS affirmed.

The assistance contains 77 tons of 2,000 food parcels, 18 tons of mineral water, medicines, 2,000 mattresses and blankets, two generators, 16 hydraulic pumps and tents.

Aissa Boulahia, governor of Illizi, affirmed in statements to reporters that the army and the Interior Ministry ordered quick delivery of the relief aid following calls for assistance from the stricken inhabitants in the border region.
