Qatar- BFQ honours business organisations

Doha: Bangladesh Forum Qatar (BFQ), celebrated its first founding anniversary in a grand style by awarding business organisations that are contributing in the development of Qatar Bangladesh bilateral economic relationship at an event 'Partners of Bangladesh. 


The programme, titled 'Partners of Bangladesh, was hosted by BFQ members Professor Dr Kazi of Qatar University and Engr. Tasmia Priyanka of Qatar Gas.  Ashud Ahmed, Ambassador of People's Republic of Bangladesh in Doha graced the occasion as the chief guest. 


A total of seven renowned organisations and entrepreneurs were honoured in three different categories — contribution towards trade and economic development of Bangladesh, contribution in employing substantial number of Bangladeshi workforce, and ‘successful Bangladeshi entrepreneur in Qatar'. The prestigious award recipients were Al Jaber Group, QDVC, QD-SBG Construction, Muntajat, Power Holding, Arabian Exchange Companies and Jalal Ahmed, CEO of Golden Marble Company. 


During the event, which took place on June 12, BFQ founding member Shahed Ahmed introduced Bangladesh and briefly outlined the opportunities available in Bangladesh for foreign direct investment. 

The presentation was insightful and raised the overall interest of investors and audiences about the Bangladeshi economy.


BFQ founding member Israt Ara Younus, Managing Director, Richmond Consultants & Services announced and presented the upcoming event on 'Made in Bangladesh first Bangladeshi trade and investment exhibition to be held in Doha in December 2019. 


In his speech, Ashud Ahmed, the Ambassador of Bangladesh, hailed the initiatives of BFQ. He thanked BFQ for organising events and activities which are helping to improve image of Bangladesh in Qatar and helping in promoting relationship between the two countries at different levels. 


Speaking on the sideline of the event, BFQ President Iftekhar Ahmad, Ali Bin Ali Group CFO, said, 'There couldn't be a better moment to recognise the business organisations for their contribution to Bangladesh economy. We hope to continue the trend every year and hope that our future endeavours will also improve the image of Bangladesh in Qatar. We thank the Bangladesh Embassy and the Ambassador for his relentless support and enthusiasm.


BFQ Vice-President Shafiqul Islam, a leading marketing professional in Oredoo Qatar said, 'We have achieved our goals we set while taking initiative to set up BFQ. Members of BFQ are trying to make future initiatives more interactive and informative so that investors both in Qatar and Bangladesh get adequate information and guidance.
