Kuwait launches digital library


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, June 11 (KUNA) -- Kuwait National Library launched on Tuesday the Digital Library (Kuwait Memory), chronicling national intellectual, artistic and media heritage.
The inauguration came during opening the third session for Arab and Chinese experts in librarianship and information centers, sponsored by Information Minister and Minister for Youth Mohammad Al-Jabri, in coordination with the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, along the Arab League Secretariat General and the Chinese National Library.
The National Library Director General Kamel Al-Abdul Jelil said "Kuwait Memory" encompasses 1,000 items and pieces of (printed, audio, visual) of information in addition to books, manuscripts and journals. (end)
