Qatar- Major efforts for hygiene at public places during Eid
The Ministry of Municipality and Environment has intensified efforts to maintain hygiene at public places during Eid Al Fitr. The Assistant Undersecretary for General Services Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, Safar Mubarak Al Shafi, said in a statement that cleaning operation will be continue round-the-clock during Eid Al Fitr.
He said that a special field team was formed to cover cities and other parts of the country with especial focus on recreational sites and picnicking places like Corniche, public parks and beaches.
'Such places attract big number of visitors during holidays like Eid Al Fitr, said Al Shafi, adding that routine work of cleaning will continue as per the daily program.
He pointed out that the daily programmes of cleaning services are not affected by the special programme of Eid Al Fitr but are in accordance with the plans set for these services, which run regularly and round-the-clock, taking into account the religious aspects and worship rights of workers and Muslim drivers, as work stops during the Eid prayer and the operation will resume afterword.
The Department made special focus on Eid Al Fitr prayer grounds providing all necessary services including washing and cleaning the ground across the country in collaboration with authorities concerned.
A special team was assigned to clean the beaches across the country with especial focus on the Corniche, beaches of Sealine, Al Khor, Al Wakra, Al Ghariya and other key beaches which attract huge crowd during holidays and Eid Al Fitr.
Al Shafi called on citizens and residents to maintain hygiene during their visits to picnic places and beaches by putting the garbage especially cans and plastic bottles inside the garbage bins.
He also urged people to cooperate with cleaning team while taking out solid wastes caused by renovation of homes and changing furniture ahead of Eid Al Fitr. 'Solid wastes should be taken out ahead of cleaning vehicles passed by the area as per the schedule, said Al Shafi, adding that people can call on 184 in case of any help in this regards.
