Greek PM declares elections on July 7
(MENAFN) Greek government's spokesman has declared that the country will hold early national elections on July 7.
On June 10, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will ask President Prokopis Pavlopoulos to break up parliament.
"The premier decided to hold the elections on July 7 to avoid disrupting the process of school exams," he added.
Tsipras declared his decision to call early national elections on Sunday night after his radical left-wing SYRIZA party suffered heavy losses to the conservatives in the European and local elections.
