249 illegal migrants saved off Moroccan coast

(MENAFN) On Monday, the Moroccan military confirmed 249 undocumented migrants to have been saved by the navy off the northern coast.

In the Mediterranean Sea between May 25 and 26, the Moroccan navy rescued the Sub-Saharan illegal immigrants as they were aboard a number of inflatable boats.

Those immigrants were then taken to ports in Ksar-Sghir, Al-Hoceima and Nador, northern cities in Morocco.

Since this year started, Moroccan was able to foil over 30,000 unlawful migrant attempts and 80,000 in 2018.
