Village shooting in Burundi leaves over 26 killed


(MENAFN) The security minister declared that over 26 people have died as another eight were critically wounded in shooting attack at a village in the province of Cibitoke, northwestern Burundi.

Alain Guillaume Bunyoni, Burundian Public Security and Disaster Management Minister, who was at the village close to the border with Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo), declared that "terrorists" who travelled through the borders from the DR Congo have murdered 26 people, including 24 who died at the scene, and another 2 who died while hospitalized.

He added that the terrorists returned to the DR Congo after the attack, as the Burundian government is in connection with DR Congo's leaders in efforts to tackle the tourists down.
