Syrian army foils terror attack attempt in Hama

(MENAFN) On Saturday, the Syrian army thwarted an attack by the al-Qaida-linked Nusra Front in the northern countryside of Hama province in central Syria.

The attack by the Nusra Front concentrated on the towns of Jabriyeh and Tal Hawash, which is governed by the Syrian army, a military source informed Xinhua secretly.

The insurgents conducted their attack from the town of Sahriyeh and Jabal Shahshabo, which are still under the control of Nusra Front.

These parts of the countryside of Hama, Idlib and the Aleppo countryside are involved in a de-escalation zones' agreement established in September 2018 by Russia and Turkey.
