Afghanistan- Media Role Vital in Global Politics, Says Kyrgyzstan President


(MENAFN- Daily Outlook Afghanistan) BISHKEK - Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov has termed the role of mediavital and crucial in the global affairs and acknowledged that people observedthings through media eyes.
He expressed the views while addressing the opening of the ShanghaiCooperation Organization Media Forum on Friday.
The media forum brought together heads of government agencies,representatives of the SCO Secretariat, leading media outlets, as well as mediaexperts from SCO member states, observer countries and dialogue partners.
Speaking with keynote speech President Jeenbekov stressed the role of mediain the world and a responsible mission.
'You are doing a great thing not only for our countries, but for the wholeworld. They say that media is an instant reflection of the current history ofthe world. I would add that people see the world through your eyes. Theatmosphere both within a particular country and between our states depends onyour position and responsibility, the president said.
He stressed that one of the main tasks of the SCO is to create anatmosphere of trust and mutual respect between countries and peoples, and inthe implementation of this task, he said, a huge role belongs to the massmedia.
'The media helps to build an open dialogue, promote mutual understandingbetween our societies. The word tends to materialize. The word has always beena sharp weapon: it can destroy and can create, added Jeenbekov and urged theparticipants of the forum to bear the great mission with the utmost honesty andgreat responsibility.
