Sri Lanka reiterates commitment to projects with China


(MENAFN- Leisure Plus) />Sri Lanka has reiterated its commitment to joint projects with China.


The Chinese Embassy in Colombo said that the Ambassador of China to Sri Lanka Cheng Xueyuan called on Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe at Temple Trees.


Both sides discussed about how to enhance China-Sri Lanka cooperation in economics, tourism, culture and the counter-terrorism fields.


On the occasion, Ambassador Cheng briefed Wickremasinghe on the Conference of Asian Civilizations Dialogue.


He said the meetings between the leaders of Sri Lanka and China were very fruitful.


Ambassador Cheng also applauded the visit by President Maithripala Sirisena to China saying it was a good reflection of the mutual trust and friendship between the two peoples.


Prime Minister Wickremasinghe showed his appreciation and briefed the Chinese Ambassador on the current situation in Sri Lanka, and reiterated his commitment of continuous support to the joint projects between the two countries. (Colombo Gazette)
