180 militant killed in battles in Idlib
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MOSCOW, May 23 (KUNA) -- Russian Defense Ministry said Thursday about 180 Syrian armed men were killed in battles with the Syrian regime forces in Idlib.
The armed groups in Syria continue their attacks against positions of the Syrian government forces in a bid to recapture these strongholds, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The government forces destroyed two tanks and three rocket launchers, the statement added.
The militants are trying to break into positions of the regulars and bombed the Russian-manned airbase of Hmeimim near Latakia. (end)
