Ex- Namibian vice president passes away aged 82
(MENAFN) Namibian President Hage Geingob on Sunday declared that his ex- vice president, Nickey Iyambo, has passed away.
Iyambo was nearly 83 years old and stepped down in 2018 over health issues,he died on early Sunday morning.
Geingob expressed: "I announce with sadness the passing of my comrade, former Vice President, Nickey Iyambo. He leaves behind a rich legacy of loyal service to the Namibian people".
Iyambo was one of the longest serving cabinet ministers in the country's cabinet and was seen as a kind giant of Namibian politics.
