Iraqi Airways to recommence Syria services
(MENAFN) National carrier Iraqi Airways decided to re-commence its services to Syria, effective May 18, following an eight-year halt.
Spokesman of Iraqi Airways Layth al-Rubaie announced that starting Saturday, the first flight to Damascus will be launched carrying an official delegation.
Carrier spokesman al-Rubaie declared that "there will be one flight per week as a start, but the flights can be increased as needed."
Al-Rubaie further added that the flight between Baghdad and Damascus is considered significant for the two countries since it would boost tourism and the number of passengers for both sides.
