KUWAIT, May 16 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent hosted underprivileged families for a gergaiaan event at its headquarters on Friday evening.
The traditional custom, which usually occurs in mid-Ramadan, involves handing out confectionery, sometimes mixed with small gifts or coins, in large amounts to children as they sing traditional songs dedicated to the occasion.
Organisers said the event, which also included live sing-alongs and gifts, aimed to put a smile on the faces of the children and their families during the holy month of generosity. (end)
