Zambia's road safety agency director faces careless driving charges


(MENAFN) Police in Zambia on Thursday have indicted the leader of the country's road safety agency with reckless driving after he was involved in a road collision.

Zindaba Soko, executive director of the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA), led to a crash left nine people severely wounded after he couldn't drive steadily on his lane and rammed into a public minibus.

The crash took place on Wednesday afternoon on one of the major roads in Lusaka, the country's capital.

Rae Haamonga, deputy spokesperson of the Zambian police, confirmed that the road safety chief has been indicted of the charges of careless driving and he will stand before court if he didn't pay an admission of guilt fine within seven days.
