Oman- Muscat Municipality ready for Ramadan rush
Suppliers too have increased the number of shipments to meet the needs of consumers during the holy month. Government agencies operating in the central market like the ROP, the customs administration as well as the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries are ensuring that everything is in order to cater to the demand during the holy month.
Muscat Municipality is also ensuring that all health standards are met. In this regard, it destroyed around 268 tonnes of vegetables and fruits between April 1-30.As part of quality assurance checks, the municipality teams are also monitoring samples of fruits and vegetables to check the level of pesticides and hygiene in the market.
The authorities have also intensified technical and health inspections at different stores. The working hours will be extended at wholesale and retail stores too. During Ramadan the main market will operate from 4.30am to 2pm and wholesale shops from 6am to 5pm.Ramadan timings for Amerat, Seeb slaughterhouses
Muscat Municipality has said that slaughterhouses will open for companies and individuals from 7am to 1pm and 3pm to 6pm. For livestock companies, they will be open from 6am to 6pm.
