Turkish forces detain nearly 385 illegal migrants across country
(MENAFN) On Friday, as many as 384 illegal migrants were arrested across Turkey, according to several security sources.
At least 309 illegal migrants were detained by gendarmerie forces in the northwestern province of Edirne, bordering Greece and Bulgaria, a source stated on condition of secrecy because of restrictions on talking to the media.
In Balikesir, another northwestern province, 23 undocumented migrants in a rubber boat were arrested by the Turkish Coast Guard.
Additionally, 17 migrants who were planning to cross to Greece were arrested by gendarmerie forces in the same province.
