Cambodian ancient site receives about 1m tourists this year


(MENAFN) Cambodia's famed Angkor Archeological Park has attracted 973,305 foreign tourists in the first four months of the year, down 7.3 percent compared to the same period last year.

The site has earned a gross revenue of USD44 million from ticket sales during the January-April period this year, down 8.5 percent over the same period last year.

The entrance fee to the park is USD37 for a one-day visit, USD62 for a three-day pass, and USD72 for a week-long pass.

Located in northwest Cambodia's Siem Reap province, the Angkor Archeological Park, inscribed on the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1992, is the kingdom's most popular tourist destination.
