Afghanistan- Iran regularly pays Taliban in Farah: Official
Iran regularly pays the Taliban in Afghanistan's in Farah, top intelligence official in the western province said on Wednesday.
Abdul Razzaq Lunai, provincial chief of intelligence agency National Directorate of Security, said that there were three types of Taliban in Farah in terms of source of support.
He detailed that the groups were being supported by Pakistan, Iran'sRevolutionaryGuards and drugs smugglers.
Farah is located near the border with Iran and there have been several reports of Iran providing support to militants in Afghanistan.
In October last year, the United States accused Iran of providing military training, financing and weapons to the Taliban.
Last month, US officially designated Iran's Revolutionary Gaurds as a foreign terrorist organization. (1TV)
