Oman- MoM relaxes visa rule for cleaning, construction jobs
However, the ministry has amended the rule which now allows issuance of visas to only those companies who employ more than 100 workers.
The first six-month ban on fresh visas for construction workers and cleaners came into effect on November 2013, and the ministry since then has been extending the ban every six months. The decision states that the freeze will apply only to new visas and not renewals. Firms registered as excellent or with international grade, consultancies and those implementing government projects will not be affected.
This decision will also not apply to SMEs owned by full-time employers for their administration, registered with Riyada and insured by the Public Authority for Social Insurance.
