Tanzania: 5 family members die in lightning strike
(MENAFN) Police declared that over five members of a family have died after they were hit by lightning in Tanzania's central region of Tabora.
Emmanuel Nley, Tabora Regional Police Commander confirmed that the incident took place n Tuesday night at Isongwa village after heavy downpour, raging winds and lightning struck the country.
The police officer revealed: "The deceased were asleep when the lightning struck, damaging the wall in the process."
The horrible incident has left the villagers and whole community in agony, according to Sikonge District Council chairman Peter Nzalalila.
