Oman- Security cooperation tops agenda of GCC meet


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- A range of issues pertaining to the march of joint security cooperation were discussed by the GCC Interior Undersecretaries at their tenth meeting in Muscat on Monday.

The meeting was held under the patronage of Maj Gen Hamad bin Sulaiman al Hatmi, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Operations in the presence of Maj Gen Hazza bin Mubarak al Hajri, Assistant Secretary General for Security Affairs in the GCC Secretariat General.

They discussed reports referred by the security departments and committees upon which appropriate recommendations and decisions were taken.

The decisions and recommendations will be presented before the GCC Interior Ministers at their upcoming regular meeting in October.

The GCC Interior Undersecretaries expressed their appreciation to Oman under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, President of the current session of GCC Supreme Council, for the efforts being exerted by the country to cement the GCC cohesion and integrity.

They also expressed their appreciation and gratitude for the support and care accorded by the GCC leaders to enhance joint action march and security cooperation among the GCC states to ensure security and stability. The undersecretaries praised the efforts exerted by the missions, authorities and offices affiliated to the GCC Secretariat General - Security Affairs Sector - for cooperation among the respective departments in GCC states.
