Kuwait- Bahrain affirms media role in education development

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MANAMA, April 16 (KUNA) -- Bahrain's Minister of Information Ali Al-Rumaihi said Tuesday media could have a crucial role in the development of education.
Arab communities are facing major challenges posed by social media, he said, therefore they needed more awareness.
He was speaking at the opening of a seminar for Bahrain-based Arab Cultural Attaches, themed "media role in development of education," organized by Kuwait Cultural Attache Dr. Abdullah Al-Kandari.
Al-Rumaihi said the traditional and new media have a role in strengthening national identity.
Al-Kandari said media could play a major role in education, transferring traditions and customs to new generations, as well as encouraging students to adopt critical thinking.
The opening session was attended by a number of Ambassadors including Kuwait's Sheikh Azzam Al-Sabah. (end) hmd.bs
