Egypt, Greece, Cyprus kick off joint military drill

(MENAFN) On Monday, the Egyptian, Greek and Cypriot armed forces kicked off the joint naval and air drill Medusa-8 in Egypt's territorial waters in the Mediterranean, a statement by Egyptian military spokesperson Tamer El-Refai emphasized.
The exercise, which will last for a number of days, means at enhance military collaboration between the three nations "in the framework of the annual plan for joint exercises by the [Egyptian] Armed Forces to promote and support military cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries," the statement emphasized.
Participating in the drill are the Egyptian Navy helicopter carrier ENS Anwar El-Sadat, a Type 209 submarine and a number of F-16 jets.
Egypt and Greece held their first joint drill Medusa 5 in 2015.
