2m TEUs pass Gulftainer's Iraq terminal in 9 years

(MENAFN) Since 2009, UAE's Gulftainer witnessed two million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) go through the Iraq Container Terminal in Umm Al Qasr port.

UAE-based Gulftainer made great investments for the establishment of a 376-metre berth and container storage area in the 342,000 square metre terminal.

Gulftainer also had businesses starting last year in the Iraq South Terminal (IST), which covers 230 metres of quay and a yard processing a capacity of 100,000 TEUs per annum.

Iraq general manager Nic Gray stated "the latest developments at Iraq Container Terminal and Iraq South Terminal in 2018 mark impressive milestones for Gulftainer in Iraq."

Gray added "the company offers reliable services, fast vessel turnarounds, competitive rates, 48-hour customers clearance, dedicated in and out gates and an on-terminal customers scanner."
