Evacuation erupts over volcano explosion in Papua New Guinea
(MENAFN) Authorities are currently evacuating around 1,500 people due to a volcano eruption in an island off the northern coast of Papua New Guinea, according to the local Red Cross.
The volcano is located on the island of Kadovar, about 24 km north of the Papuan mainland.
The volcano started erupting on April 5, and is still active to the moment.
About 590 people on Kadovar were evacuated to the nearby island of BlupBlup.
