UN envoy arrives in Yemen for talks with Houthi rebels


(MENAFN) On Sunday, the UN Special Envoy Martin Griffiths arrived in Yemen's capital Sanaa for conflict discussions with Shiite Houthi rebel group.

Griffiths is prepared to offer a new plan for applying the first stage of Stockholm Agreement in Hodeidah port city, a source close to the rebel group informed Xinhua on condition of secrecy.

The plan detailed the operational phases of military redistribution and pulling out of the insurgents from the port city, the source affirmed without any additional explanation.

Griffiths has been traveling between the rebels in Sanaa and the Yemeni government in the Saudi capital Riyadh to push the agreement toward application.
