Gamers gather for charity, community at 26 hour event

(MENAFN- PRLog) The non-profit organization, NETWAR, is set to host their 36th large-scale video gaming event in efforts to provide bedside recreation for hospitalized children. 1 2 3 4 5 NETWAR 36.0 will accommodate 638 gamers. OMAHA, Neb. - April 2, 2019 - PRLog -- NETWAR, a local non-profit organization devoted to organizing LAN parties and video gaming events to raise money for local and national charities, is hosting NETWAR 36.0 on April 12th at 7:00 pm CT at the Baxter Arena in Omaha, Nebraska. The event will run for 26 hours straight. The cost of registration is $40 and all proceeds from the event will benefit Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals.

The event features 638 seats for gamers to bring their own computers or gaming consoles and casually compete in gaming tournaments. Tom White, Marketing Director for NETWAR, said "NETWAR encompasses a wide variety of activities from laid-back tournaments for all skill levels to meeting and socializing with people you can later game with online. We are one of the largest and longest running LAN parties in the US, and take pride in bringing gamers together to positively impact the communities where we work and live."

Proceeds from NETWAR 36.0 will furnish GO Karts for Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals. These are portable video game kiosks built specifically for the medical environment. Each GO Kart helps nurses and child life specialists easily provide bedside recreation to children unable to leave their rooms in hospitals.

"Our GO Kart project has been making a huge impact in Omaha," said Travis Kreikemeier, Founder and Event Coordinator of NETWAR. "Through the generosity of our sponsors, event attendees, and Twitch Partner oISketcHIo, we have been able to furnish eight GO Karts to Omaha Children's Hospital & Medical Center. We are excited to continue the project at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals."
