Greece backs Lebanese independence
(MENAFN) Greece voiced its complete endorsement and support for the Lebanese independence, sovereignty and regional interests.
Francisco Faros, Greek Ambassador to Lebanon, conveyed Greece's support while attending an event to commemorate the Greek National Day.
Faros affirmed "Greece contributes in the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and it cooperates closely with the Lebanese Armed Forces, mainly by training maritime soldiers."
He further added that Greece has respect to resolutions the UN adopted, mainly resolution 1701, noting that Lebanon is a democratic and warm country.
