Greece, Cyprus back Turkish EU membership
(MENAFN) Greece and Cyprus reached an agreement supporting the membership of Turkey in the European Union (EU).
This comes during a meeting held between Greek Foreign Minister George Katrougalos and his Cypriot counterpart Nikos Christodoulides.
In their talks, the Greek foreign minister rejected any "anti-European, hostile Turkey" on the EU's eastern side.
Katrougalos further stressed that Greece is completely against an "Islamophobia" atmosphere that is not included in the EU principles.
