(MENAFN) Local police force declared that Myanmar authorities have confiscated 22.9 kilograms of suspected uncut amber stones in Mokaung township, Kachin state.
The amber stones in 17 packages were captured by the police when they stopped an express bus travelling from Tanai to Myitgyina at a checkpoint named Mayankahtaung on Friday afternoon.
Probes revealed that the amber rocks have been in the possession of three women.
The three suspects along with the driver have been nabbed and charged by the police for illegal smuggling of precious stones under Myanmar's Gemstone Law.
