Jordan- Princess Rym launches Francophonie month celebrations, 1st, final add

Resident Coordinator Pedersen affirmed that the UN believes that economic and social development will become sustainable only when it is based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which provides guidelines for the organization to aid Jordan and other countries in their pursuit for peace and prosperity.

International Francophonie Day is observed every March 20 to celebrate the French language and Francophone (French speakers) culture, within the International Organization of the Francophonie's 88 member states.

Throughout the month, France, Belgium, Canada, Lebanon, Morocco, Romania, Switzerland, and Tunisia will host events that reflect the Francophonie cultures' diversity and richness including, but not limited to, movie screenings, concerts, literary meetings.

The French language is taught in nearly 150 schools in the Kingdom. The Francophonie month is a unique opportunity that allows French speakers and learners to practice and celebrate the Latin language.
