Turkey seeks flourishing congress tourism

(MENAFN) Turkey was confirmed to be seeking development in its congress tourism, as the country sees great potential in the sector.

Head of the Hotel Association of Turkey (TUROB) Timur Bayindir made the statement on Sunday during an interview with Anadolu Agency.

Turkey, according to the chief, is planning to tap into international events as it considers Istanbul to be an attractive route for tourists.

Bayindir affirmed that "congress tourism requires long-term planning, as the proposals for the organizations to be held in 2021 and 2022 have already been received."

He added: "Turkey will return to its former world ranking position if we don't experience any negativity in the next 2-3 years."
