Swiss assisted suicide group supported deaths of 1,200 in 2018


(MENAFN) The Swiss assisted suicide organization EXIT declared that it has supported up to 1,207 people claim their lives in 2018, a rise compared with the 1,031 cases in 2017.

Swiss law bears assisted suicide when people commit suicide themselves and assistant have no vested profit in their death.

Assisted suicide has been authorized in the Alpine nation since the 1940s.

The average age of people deploying assisted suicide in 2018 was 78, including 57 percent of them women.
