Turkish stock index up 0.04 percent at open


(MENAFN) Turkey recorded a 0.04 percent, or 35.74 points, increase in its benchmark stock index once it opened its Tuesday session, reaching 97,990.90 points.

The U.S. dollar-Turkish lira exchange rate posted 5.3380 at open on Tuesday, from the 5.3360 closing of Monday trading.

The euro-lira exchange rate further registered a boost to hit 6.0710 on Tuesday, compared to Monday's ending at 6.0660.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index posted on Monday a 0.51 percent decline, ending the day at 97,955.16 points and generating USD1.54 billion in its daily trading volume.
