Annual volume of banana harvest in Iran's Konarak district revealed

About 72,000 tons of bananas are harvested annually in Konarak district of Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan province, Saeed Mohammad Oliaei, director of the Konarak Agriculture Jihad Office of the province said, Trend reports via ISNA.
He noted that there are banana trees on the territory of 3,500 hectares in the district.
Bananas, guava, papaya, mango, sapodilla are grown in the district, and 11,000 people work in cultivation and harvesting of fruits, he said.
Konarak district has a territory of 11,567 square meters and agricultural land in the district accounts for 10,500 hectares of the territory.
