Saudi Arabia sells 7.2 percent more cement, clinker Dec 2018


(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia sold 4.37 million tons of cement and clinkers in December last year, recording a 7.2 percent surge on annual basis.

In a report issued on Wednesday, Aljazira Capital compared the figure to the 4.08 million tons of cement and clinker sales in 2017.

According to the report, Saudi Arabia registered an 18.8 percent year-on-year jump in its clinker inventory, and a 0.8 percent raise on monthly basis, standing at 42.34 million tons in December.

The report added that the total utilization rate of the cement sector in the Kingdom was hit with a decline to reach 54.1 percent last month, from 62.4 percent in 2017 during the same period.
