S. Sudan: 48 inmates to be released in presidential pardon
(MENAFN) Six South Sudanese prisons will be releasing 48 inmates from their bars after President Salva Kiir issued their pardon.
A juvenile is included in the list of pardoned prisoners, announced spokesperson for the National Prisons Service, Anthony Oliver Legge during an interview with Xinhua.
The spokesperson added that "there is a Republic Order of the New Year 2019 which orders for the release of 48 inmates from six prisons across the country."
Legge further unveiled ten jailed individuals to be set free from Wau prison, eleven from Juba, eight from Torit, four from Turalei and fifteen from Kuacjok.
