U.S establishes several military bases for its troops in Iraq

(MENAFN) The U.S. Army has prepared a sum of fourteen military bases for its ground forces in many parts of Iraq, containing the Iraqi Kurdistan region, media sources affirmed.

The Arabic-language al-Maloumeh news website quoted security specialist Safa al-Asam as stating that the U.S. has created 14 ground force bases in Iraq.

Al-Asam reaffirmed that the U.S. bases are not for its military consultants or for the aim of drill, and stated the U.S. military bases have spread over various districts such as Baghdad's al-Mosana airport, al-Nasseriyeh, al-Qayareh in Mosul, al-Habanieyh and al-Qaem in al-Anbar province.

"Four US military bases are located in the Iraqi Kurdistan region," al-Asam emphasized, adding that the mission of these bases appears unclear.
