Doha: Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) will welcome a number of visiting consultants from various medical specialties during the months of January and February.
They will include Dr Patrik Velander, Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Skåne University Hospital in Lund, Sweden. He will visit from January 5 to 11. Dr Alessandro Repici, a gastroenterology specialist from Milan, Italy, will visit from January 13 to 15 January.
Dr Antonio Torres, Professor of Surgery at the Complutense University of Madrid and Chief of the General, Digestive and Thoracic Surgery Service at the Clínico San Carlos Hospital in Madrid, Spain, will visit from January 11 to 14 January.
Dr Robert Turcotte, Chair of Surgical Oncology at Mc Gill University Health Centre Canada, will visit from January 14 to 17. He will be conducting clinics and surgeries.
Dr Noriko Suzuki, a Consultant Gastroenterologist from St. Mark's Hospital in, Harrow, England, UK, will visit from January 16 to 20.
Dr Gideon Hirschfield, Senior Lecturer and Consultant Hepatologist with the University Hospitals Birmingham, Birmingham, UK, and a specialist in the field of gastroenterology, including autoimmune liver disease, will visit from February 17 to 21. Other experts are scheduled to visit this year as part of HMC's focus on hosting highly-respected physicians and surgeons from around the world. Hosting visiting international consultants who are experts in their field is in line with HMC's commitment to providing specialized medical services to the people of Qatar.
Members of the public wishing to book an appointment with one of the visiting consultants are advised to discuss this option with their physician. If the doctor agrees that an appointment with a visiting consultant is appropriate, they will provide a referral.
