Finland: 1 dies in rail collision


(MENAFN) The Lapin Kansa newspaper revealed that a truck driver has been killed as an engine driver was wounded when a freight train crashed into a heavy truck in northern Finland on Wednesday.

Train services on the eastern Lapland track were affected all day after the collision.

The track links Rovaniemi in central Lapland to Kemijarvi nearby the Russian border, as the trains also provide offer touristic sleeper car services.

Passengers are taken by bus between Kemijarvi and Rovaniemi, according to railroad conductor.
