UAE- Probe ordered after fight breaks out in Sharjah school

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The police and education authorities are investigating a fight that broke out among a group of students in a private school in Sharjah's Al Ghubaiba area. A video of the fight has gone viral on social media. The video shows several students throwing punches and kicks, but according to authorities, no one was seriously injured.

The school's principal said the fight started between two students of grade 10 after they finished their exam. The school has formed a committee to identify the students and take action as per the student conduct code that is enforced in all UAE schools.

An official at the Sharjah Private Education Authority said it had sent a team to follow up on the incident. The authority has also asked the school to send an official report on the fight and how it began.

The official stressed the importance of adhering to the laws and regulations and "spreading the spirit of tolerance among students and employees in educational institutions".

The official pointed to the role of families in instilling the values of respect and appreciation.

A parent of a student at the school said he witnessed the violence when he went to pick his son. "I was shocked to see the level of violence among kids who were less than 15 years old. I saw at least 20 students fighting. The security guards intervened to stop the fight."

He called on the authorities to bring those responsible to the book.
